1942, Nazi-occupied Paris. Jewish jeweller Joseph Haffmann faces imminent danger as Jews across the city are being rounded up for deportation. Desperate, he turns to his trusted employee, Pierre Vigneau, for help. A Matisse painting, an art-obsessed Nazi officer, and his flamboyant wife further complicate Pierre’s efforts, creating mounting pressures on both his marriage and his family. As bizarre demands pile up, an unconventional agreement teeters on the brink of collapse. With a blend of dark humour and suspense set against a backdrop of extraordinary times, this play explores human resilience in the face of impossible choices.
